THE KAJANG HIGH SCHOOL,SELANGOR - LEST WE FORGET !

MESSAGE FROM YANG BERHORMAT DATO ABDUL AZIZ,
( Acting Mentri Besar, N. S., and  President of the O. B. A )

I wish to thank Mr. Ng  Bow Poo for the privilege of sending a message to the next issue of the School Magazine, and I have great pleasure in doing so.

We are all too familiar with the word  " school "  to denote a group of whales. The same word is used again to mean an institution in which a group of children are being taught or are learning to equip themselves  for the duties they owe to society and mankind.

The whales are the largest inhabitants of the sea, while human beings are the noblest creation inhabiting the land. There may be other reasons for this choice of the word, but I am no scholar - and no whales can become one - that is my defence.

A school does not consist of bricks ,mortar , maps and set-squares which are generally part of it , but of the culture and the ennobling ideals that it can and does continue to give to those who have been or still are within it; above all , a school means its traditions, and these traditions depend upon the past and present boys . The Kajang High School has built up traditions of its own. These are now the heritage of the present boys and theirs to guard jealously ,maintain and enrich.

The Old Boys of the school, too, have an important filial duty towards the " benign mother " and her present family. It is their duty to do all that lies in their power and in the spirit of a truly dutiful child to assist the mother in her solemn duty towards her present children .Only by this means can a school become the hallowed institution which we all expect it to mean and imply. To achieve this ,a firm link berween the past and the present must be maintained ,and there is no better means to accomplish this than by the service that a school magazine can give. No Old Boy of the school, therefore, should go without his copy of the Kajang High School Magazine, if a love for the " mother " is to be maintained and perpetuated .

To the School Magazine ,I wish the very best of success ,and to the school I wish an abiding and everlasting  fame .

ABDUL AZIZ  bin  HAJI  ABDUL  MAJID .
